It has an inlet diameter starting at 78mm internally and then increasing to 88mm across the main body of the tube before tapering down to the turbo inlet flange. The stock turbo tube in comparison has an internal diameter of 76.5mm, which stays at that diameter across the main body and then tapers down to the turbo. This difference in size equates to an increase in cross sectional area of over 32% at its largest point. Furthermore, since it is made from Carbon, it has a much lower weight and lower thermal conductivity across the wall thickness than the stock cast aluminium tube. Here is a comparison between our FK8 tube and the OEM version, the same principles apply to the FL5.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe turbo coupler has a silicon spacer ring which separates the carbon from the metal turbo flange. This acts as a thermal barrier to reduce heat conduction from the hot turbo flange through to the carbon tube. The flange is CNC machined from aircraft grade aluminium and anodised. It provides a perfect fitment and seal against the stock turbo.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eIntroducing our Carbon Turbo Tube for the Honda FL5, which is a direct replacement for the OEM metal turbo tube. Utilising the same design brief as our FK8 tube, we developed the FL5 version with these 3 key objectives:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003col style=\"margin:1em 0\"\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eVOLUME : Inlet Diameters ? Although the OEM FL5 tube doesn?t pose a restriction to the turbo at stock boost levels, we expect our larger tube to benefit at higher boost levels where the airflow demand is increased.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFLOW QUALITY : Having just a large internal volume is no good unless the flow path also allows for smooth airflow to the turbo. By using high temperature Prepreg Carbon Fiber we have managed to achieve a smooth internal surface. In contrast, the stock inlet tube is made from cast aluminium which ends up with a rough internal surface. This coupled with the smooth curvature of the elbow results in a flow path which minimises turbulence.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eTEMPERATURE : The final criteria was to minimise the conduction of heat into the airflow. The stock inlet is directly connected to the turbo and so immediately conducts heat as the turbo spools. Our system uses a machined flange which connects to the turbo and then a silicon coupler with an integrated thermal spacer to keep the carbon elbow from having direct contact with the turbo. This barrier coupled with the low through-thickness thermal conductivity of carbon fiber results in less heat being transferred to the airflow.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ol\u003eThe Eventuri FL5 Carbon Turbo Tube consists of a number of components engineered to perform a specific purpose and fabricated to the highest of standards.
